11 Reasons Why Legion Finally Feels Like An X-Men Show

In Season 1, Legion borrowed the X-Men’s general backdrop–there are mutants, they have special abilities, and people generally don’t like ’em–to tell a very personal story about mental illness.

In Season 2, things are different. These days, Legion is going all in on its comic book heritage. By weaving together the themes, tropes, and some other, more direct connections to the comics, Legion is finally starting to feel like a real X-Men adventure. Here’s why.

The First 9 Minutes Of God Of War

The First 9 Minutes Of God Of War

In the opening to God of War, Kratos and Atreus navigate a tragic situation and begin their long journey.

God of War is just about here, and it is shaping up to receive quite the reception. It’s a giant game that’ll take you dozens of hours to complete, and it has a complex and deep combat system. God of War is also gorgeous, with some stunning scenery and character art.

But developer Sony Santa Monica hasn’t released a ton of footage from the game, so it’s understandable if you’re still unsure about what it’s like or how it looks. To get a better sense of how God of War is changed from past entries in the series, check out the first nine minutes of the game in the embed above.

In the video, you get a good look at Kratos’ more grizzled features as well as his son, Atreus. In addition, the introductory scenes set up the story and show off the new Norse setting. Finally, there’s also a bit of combat in there, but it’s worth noting that your skills and toolset expand significantly as the game goes on.

Be sure to read our recent interview with director Cory Barlog if you’re interested in learning more about the game’s mechanics and how they came be. Further, you can watch our feature on the best skills and loadouts here, and the beginner’s guide for the game here.

In GameSpot’s God of War review, critic Peter Brown explains, “Like Kratos, God of War recalls the past while acknowledging the need to improve. Everything new it does is for the better, and everything it holds onto benefits as a result. Kratos is no longer a predictable brute. God of War is no longer an old-fashioned action series. With this reboot, it confidently walks a new path that will hopefully lead to more exciting adventures to come.”

There’s even a multi-branch skill tree containing an array of different attacks you can unlock with XP. Speaking of XP, God of War embraces RPG-like progression, allowing you the option to craft and upgrade armor. Fortnite v3.5.2 Update Introduces 50v50 Mode; Read Patch Notes Here

Fortnite continues to evolve, and developer Epic Games has now released a new update for the game to iterate on it once more. The v3.5 content update–officially dubbed v3.5.2–reintroduces the limited time 50v50 mode and adds a new weapon, with plenty of bug fixes and balance tweaks also included in the patch.

Epic says 50v50 version 2 is “new and improved.” Each team jumps out of their own bus and has 10 minutes to loot the map at the start of a round, during which time the storm closes in on an already-visible circle. You’ll then have five minutes to fight, before another five minutes with the storm shrinking to the end. Supply drops come in batches of between three and six, fall every two minutes, and only land inside the final storm circle.

Battle Royale’s new weapon, meanwhile, is the Light Machine Gun. Its Rare variety deals 25 damage, while the Epic version deals 26, and they can be found in Floor Loot, Treasure Chests, and Vending Machines.

Elsewhere in the new update, recent changes to peeking have been rolled back after some players found they were accidentally shooting their own buildings. Finally, there are some big bonuses to be gained over the coming days. From now until Sunday, April 22, players will receive double experience points in Battle Royale and an Into the Storm Llama each day you log in to Save the World.

No Caption Provided

It’s not clear, however, whether the 3.5.2 update includes the recently-announced changes to weapons’ equip times. Epic previously stated the tweaks would come in this week’s update, but there is no mention of them in the latest patch notes. The guided missile is gone now, after concerns over its balance and fairness. Take a look at the full patch notes below, via Epic.

Dark Souls 3 Cut Content Suggests a Different Final Boss

It seems that Soul of Cinder may not originally have been the final antagonist in FromSoftware’s Dark Souls 3, with that role seemingly originally meant for Pontiff Sulyvahn.

Lance McDonald, a self-professed “Video Game Engineer for fun”, has been busily working through the game’s code to uncover its secrets, and seems to have uncovered not only a different final boss, but also an entirely different arena for the game’s final battle, with code indicating that the fight was originally meant to take place in an unreleased version of the Untended Graves, as opposed to the Kiln of the First Flame.
