Loads of New Switch Games & Announcements: Nindies, Monster Hunter, & More
Casey here, covering for Zach while he’s out! Also turning our weekly Nintendo show into the Super PokeMonster Hunter Ultimate hour. Kidding! Though we do discuss Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate and the Pokemon World Championships, we also cover other games we’re playing including The Messenger, Little Dragon’s Cafe, and so much more. Of course, we had to champion our top Nindies picks from this week’s Nintendo Switch Nindies Summer Showcase, and explain why we’re so afraid of Nintendo’s newest mobile game, Dragalia Lost.
As always, you can watch NVC here on IGN live on Thursdays at 3pm PT. Catch the video and audio 24 hours later on our YouTube channel (subscribe and hit that bell! It gives fairies wings!) or listen to it on your commute in audio format. If you enjoy the show, share it with other Nintendo fans, leave us a comment, and give us a thumbs up or leave us a review! If you prefer audio over video, please subscribe to NVC on iTunes or your podcast service of choice.

Bioware Says Anthem Is a ‘Continued Evolution’ from Its Past RPGs
Anthem’s Game Director, Jon Warner said that despite what fans have speculated about Anthem being a departure from past BioWare games, the upcoming game is actually an evolution of their craft.
Speaking with GamesIndustry.biz, Warner called Anthem an “amalgamation” of everything BioWare has done to date. An MMO looter shooter seems on the surface to be a change of course from the single-player RPGs BioWare is beloved for, but Warner insisted the changes are evolutionary.
“If you look at BioWare games on a spectrum, from Baldur’s Gate to Neverwinter, and Jade Empire to Knights of the Old Republic, to Mass Effect and Dragon Age,” Warner said, “you’ll see that the games have always been about evolving our technique and storytelling… so the way that we look at it, Anthem is not a departure, it’s the continued evolution of our craft and our technique.”

Sony Reveals PS4 Exclusive Content for Destiny 2: Forsaken
Sony has revealed the PlayStation 4 exclusive content coming to Destiny 2: Forsaken, including new armor sets, an exotic weapon, a ship and a strike.
Announced through the PlayStation Blog, the exotic weapon is called the Wavesplitter. It uses focused sonic waves that superheat electrons and creates a powerful energy beam. It includes three power levels that change while the trigger is being held down – players can determine how powerful the beam will be based on a meter on the weapon itself. When an orb of light is obtained, the weapon will automatically fire at its maximum strength.
