Oculus Quest 2 Black Friday Sale: Get Superhot VR, Moss, And Tetris Effect For Less

Black Friday is in full swing, and if you’re feeling sluggish after yesterday’s big meal, you might be looking for some new VR games to help you get up and moving again. Thankfully, Oculus has you covered with its Black Friday sale, which has brought deep discounts on titles for the new Oculus Quest 2 as well as the Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift S. And while the Oculus Quest 2 isn’t discounted for Black Friday, it’s back in stock at Amazon and a few other stores like Walmart and Best Buy.

The Oculus Quest gets the most love in the sale, with a handful of bundles taking the guesswork out of decision-making and giving you easy access to some of the platform’s best titles. There’s the Action Pack, which includes Pistol Whip, Phantom: Covert Ops, and Trover Saves the Universe for $60. The Must-Haves Pack has a greater variety, from Tetris Effect and Job Simulator to Onward and I Expect You to Die for $90.

If you’re really looking for the pay now, think later bundle, Oculus’ Premium Pack is the one to go for. With titles like Superhot VR, Moss, Vacation Simulator, Arizona Sunshine, Gun Club VR, and more, you’re getting some of the Quest’s biggest hits, for an all-inclusive price of $165.

On the Oculus Rift side of things, there aren’t any bundles, but you can still grab some deals on individual titles. Standouts include Robo Recall for $21, Superhot VR for $12.50, Moss for $15, Stormland for $20, and Thumper for $10. Some versions of these titles offer cross-buy with their Oculus Quest counterparts, so look out for that too.

Bungie Cancels Destiny 2’s Trials Of Osiris Again

If you were looking forward to taking part in Destiny 2‘s Trials of Osiris this week, Bungie has some bad news for you. The multiplayer tournament is again postponed, thanks to some unnamed issue Bungie discovered with the mode.

Bungie said on Twitter that the weekend Trials of Osiris mode wouldn’t go live as planned today, November 27. The tweet says also says that Bungie isn’t sure exactly when Trials will come back to the game.

Bungie previously let players know that Trials was off the table soon after the release of the Beyond Light expansion. At the time, Bungie also didn’t make clear what issue it had discovered with Trials, but had previously set the date for its return as Friday, November 27.

That can be frustrating for players, since the Trials of Osiris event sees some new changes with the release of Beyond Light. It now includes some special, high-level gear rewards, called Adept weapons. These are guns that come “Masterworked,” which means they get a big bonus to one of its major stats like range or reload speed, and also get a minor boost to every other stat as well. All those bonuses will likely make Adept weapons the best in the game.

The Adept guns are extremely hard to get, however–you need to get a “flawless” Trials run, which means racking up seven wins in a row with zero losses. That’s extremely tough, especially since Bungie’s matchmaking is tuned so that the more wins you rack up, the more likely you are to face off against someone else who also is on their way to a flawless run.

While you’re waiting for Trials to come back, there are at least lots of other things to do in Destiny 2. Check out our guides to unlock new Exotics, including Salvation’s Grip, Cloudstrike, and The Lament.

Destiny 2: Where Is Xur This Week? Exotic Items / Location Guide (Nov. 27-Dec. 1)

You’ve still got a few days to defeat the Deep Stone Crypt in Destiny 2 and its new expansion, Beyond Light. Finishing the raid by December 1 will earn you the right to buy an exclusive, custom raid jacket from the Bungie store–if that’s your thing. To help you take down the raid, Xur is back in the solar system this weekend with a new batch of Exotics to sell. Head to The Tower, to the Hangar area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Hard Light. Hunters can pick up the Khepri’s Sting gauntlets; for Titans, there’s the Lion Rampant leg armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Phoenix Protocol chest armor.

Xur Location

Look for Xur at the north end of the Hangar, up on a catwalk.

Load into the Tower and head to the left, down the stairs, to the Hangar area to find Xur. When you hit the bottom of the stairs to reach the Hangar, turn left again and walk to the edge of the area. Xur is above you, at the top of some stairs, on a catwalk looking out over the city.

Xur Exotic Items

Xur’s weapon for this week is Hard Light, an old Exotic from way back in Year One. Though Destiny 2’s weapons meta has changed significantly with the release of Beyond Light, Hard Light remains a solid auto rifle to take with you into any situation, whether PvP or PvE. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram — 97 legendary shards
  • Hard Light — 29 legendary shards
  • Khepri’s Sting — 23 legendary shards
  • Lion Rampant — 23 legendary shards
  • Phoenix Protocol — 23 legendary shards
  • Xenology quest — free

Hard Light (Auto Rifle)

Hard Light is great in just about any situation, whether you need to blast enemy shields in PvE, or take down opponents in the Crucible.
Hard Light is great in just about any situation, whether you need to blast enemy shields in PvE, or take down opponents in the Crucible.

Though it was recently nerfed a bit, Hard Light is still a really great auto rifle you’ll want in your rotation of weapons. First, it has great range and stability, so you can use it all over the place. In PvE activities, it’s a great pick, since you can change its element on the fly to make it effective against any enemy shields. It’s pretty great in PvP as well, doing solid damage at long range. If you need a reliable and versatile weapon, Hard Light is a good choice.

Khepri’s Sting (Hunter)

Khepri's Sting lets you drop Smoke Bombs when you punch enemies so you can vanish in the smoke.

Hunters who like fighting at close range can get some benefits Khepri’s Sting. When you punch enemies with full melee energy with the Exotic on, you’ll automatically drop a Smoke Bomb that does extra damage, while giving you Truesight while you’re in the smoke–allowing you to act like Batman and take advantage of the distraction.

Lion’s Rampant is all about amping up your Titan aerial abilities. The leg armor gives you extra aerial maneuverability, while also allowing you to accurately fire your gun from the hip while you’re using Lift. If you like fighting while flying, these are the boots for you.

Warlocks who rely on Well of Radiance Supers should absolutely grab Phoenix Protocol--it's great for getting your Super back quickly to help you stay alive in tough encounters, like the Deep Stone Crypt raid.

Warlocks heading into the Deep Stone Crypt should take Phoenix Protocol with them. The Warlock chest armor works with your Well of Radiance, giving you back Super energy whenever you make kills or assists while standing in your Well. People Are Camping Outside GameStop For A Chance To Buy A PS5 Or Xbox Series X

One of the most sought-after items this festive season could be a next-gen console, as stock of the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X has been extremely limited.

From online retailers the consoles have sold out almost instantly, but physical stock available at GameStop stores did arrive in time for Black Friday. The only way to guarantee a purchase of one of the new consoles was to wait in line early, and for some dedicated gamers that meant securing their spot several hours — and in some cases days — before their local shop was ready to open up.

People have literally camped outside some GameStop shops:

While other people even went so far as to bring their beds with them as they braved the frigid winter air:

Sony faced “unprecedented” demand for the PS5 when it was released, with stock selling out almost as soon as it arrived and creating the “largest console launch ever” for the company. Over in the UK, the experience of buying a PS5 was soured by an army of bots that instantly snapped up any available units, allowing scalpers to resell the consoles at a massively marked-up price.

While the PlayStation 5’s launch has been bolstered by a strong lineup of games such as Demon’s Souls, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and Astro’s Playroom, the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles also make for a tempting purchase thanks partly to the incredible value of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service and its selection of games.

You can check out our Xbox Black Friday order guide for the best deals on the console and games for it, or if you prefer a Sony device our PS5 order guide will also have you covered with stock alerts that’ll keep you informed of when you can start camping out to grab one of the consoles for yourself.

Unto The End Is Launching on Xbox Game Pass in December

Unto the End, a cinematic 2D platformer about a father’s desperate journey home, is coming to Xbox Game Pass on PC and Xbox One. Published by Big Sugar and developed by 2 Ton Studios, Unto the End is set to hit PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Stadia on December 9, with the Nintendo Switch version launching a little later on December 17.

According to the game’s press release and Steam page, Unto the End’s one-of-a-kind combat is focused on skill and mastery, as you embark on a challenging adventure through dark caves and sparse open fields. Its sword fights are designed to be demanding but fair, where improvisation and observation are key to your survival. Each encounter has been carefully crafted and will see you square off against intelligent opponents that have their own motivations and place in the world.

“Unto The End has been the focus of our day to day for the past few years and it’s been fantastic to have such a great response to the game already,” said Stephen Danton, one half of the husband and wife development team. “But now we’re looking forward to Unto launching and everyone having a chance to experience the world and adventure we’ve created.”

If you don’t have Xbox Game Pass or want to extend your current subscription, both GameStop and Best Buy are offering discounts on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as part of Black Friday.
