Demon’s Souls Player Discovers PS5 Trophy Videos Record Mic Audio, Too

Defeating an enemy in a Souls game can be extremely satisfying, and with the Demon’s Souls remake debuting as a PlayStation 5 launch title, many early adopters are discovering the joys of slaying its titular demons. The PS5 records a video when you earn a trophy, and one player made a fun discovery as he defeated the Tower Knight–that video can include your mic audio.

Reddit user helloiamjack posted a video of his successful defeat of the Demon’s Souls boss to the PS5 subreddit, and amusingly, it features some audio of his victory celebration. He’s a “first time” Souls player, and he’s understandably excited about defeating the giant enemy.

You can watch the video below–just make sure you turn your volume up for the best results.

The PS5 DualSense mic turns on by default in multiplayer, so remember to switch it off if you don’t want people to hear you.

Demon’s Souls is one of the highlights of the PS5 launch, and earned a 9/10 in GameSpot’s review. ” Bluepoint has taken From Software’s original game and expressed it in a richer and fuller way, and in doing so given me something I thought was impossible: the opportunity to relive the experience of falling in love with Souls games for the first time,” wrote critic Tamoor Hussain.

Sean Astin On Which Lord Of The Rings Scene Always Makes Him Cry

Goonies and Rudy actor Sean Astin starred in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings series as the ever-faithful and genuine Samwise Gamgee. The character appears in a number of emotional and impactful scenes as he helps Frodo to Mordor to destroy the One Ring, but there is one scene in particular that always makes Astin choke up.

Speaking to CinemeBlend, Astin said he always tears up during the scene in Return of the King when Aragorn expresses his gratitude to Sam and the rest of the Hobbits for their part in destroying the One Ring. It’s an emotional scene on its own, but for Astin in particular, it has a special resonance because it was the final scene he filmed.

“The last [scene] we shot was a scene that always makes me cry in the movie, when Aragorn turns and looks at us and says, ‘Oh, my friends, you bow to no one.’ That was the last shot of the four Hobbits. My last shot,” Astin said.

“The movie had more to do, but the four Hobbits were basically, we stood against a green screen or blue screen, or whatever, and we just hit it,” he added. “And the camera just kind of did a little push in, and we all gave this sheepish like, ‘Oh, I guess they’re all bowing for us?'”

This is just the latest anecdote that Astin has shared recently from his time filming the epic fantasy trilogy. He also recalled some “brutal” feedback he got from Jackson, and he opened up on how this “Mortal Kombat death blow” actually positively impacted his performance.

The Lord of the Rings is back in the spotlight with a new 4K UHD trilogy that launches on December 1–early reviews are very positive.

In other Lord of the Rings news, HarperCollins is releasing a new Middle-earth book that will, among other things, explain who can grow beards.

Amazon is currently filming a very expensive TV show based on the fantasy series in New Zealand, while there are multiple Lord of the Rings video games in the works, including an MMO and a title featuring Gollum.

Xbox Game Pass Playfully Teases Mysterious New Game On Twitter

The Xbox Game Pass Twitter account is up to some shenanigans again. Back in September, the account posted an email exchange that not-so-subtly implied that Doom Eternal was coming to the service soon, and it joined the console Xbox Game Pass on October 1. Now, the account is teasing another big addition, but we can’t quite tell what game they’re referencing.

A “gif with a sinister red light” certainly points to Control Ultimate Edition, since that game uses red and orange hues to represent its antagonist, the Hiss. In the Doom Eternal tweet, internet sleuths quickly discovered that inverting the image’s colors revealed a message that all but confirmed that Eternal was the game being discussed. In this tweet, flipping the colors reveals a very different hidden message: “You really think we’d put the tease here again?”

It’s certainly possible that the game is something other than Control–after all, red lights aren’t exactly uncommon in big video games–but our money is certainly there. Control Ultimate Edition is the next-gen version of Remedy’s paranoid action game, and includes both of its expansions. However, it will only be available as a free upgrade for players who bought the Ultimate Edition on PS4 or Xbox One.

It’s not yet clear if this game will come to both the PC and console versions of Xbox Game Pass, which are separate services that offer differing libraries of games. For example, the PC Xbox Game Pass still does not have Doom Eternal as of this writing, with Microsoft previously stating that it will come to the service sometime before the end of the year. For those who want access to both services, as well as EA Play, there’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which costs $15 a month, compared to $10 a month for PC or console alone. However, you can get 3 months of Game Pass Ultimate for $20 as a Black Friday deal.

Extraction 2: Avengers Director Joe Russo Reveals When The Movie May Start Filming

Extraction, the Chris Hemsworth-starring action movie for Netflix written by Joe and Anthony Russo (The Avengers), is getting a sequel, and now we know when it may begin shooting. Joe Russo told ComicBook that the plan, as it stands currently, is to start cameras rolling at some point in 2021.

Plans could change, of course, and it all depends on when the script is finished–which it is not currently.

“We’re in the script phase right now but we’re hoping to shoot that sometime next year. And then you know … I’m super excited, Hemsworth’s super excited, Netflix is excited, so it’s really just a function of getting the script done,” Joe Russo said.

Extraction, which was produced by the Russo brothers’ AGBO production company, debuted on Netflix in April and it was a gigantic success. According to Netflix’s data, 90 million homes worldwide watched the movie in its first four weeks, which makes it the biggest original movie release of all time for the streaming company.

Hemsworth is expected to return for the next movie, while a previous report said director Sam Hargrave will come back as well.

Whether or not Extraction 2 will be a sequel or a prequel remains to be seen. Anyone who has seen Extraction knows that it ends with a very ambiguous tease for what might happen next.

The first Extraction did not perform so well with critics, but the action scenes were very impressive, including an 11-minute one-shot where the director strapped himself to the front of a car, risking his life, to get the shot. Darth Vader Actor David Prowse Passes Away

David Prowse, the actor inside Darth Vader’s suit in the original Star Wars trilogy, has passed away. He was 85.

Star Wars creator George Lucas said in a statement, “David brought a physicality to Darth Vader that was essential for the character. He made Vader leap off the page and on to the big screen, with an imposing stature and movement performance to match the intensity and undercurrent of Vader’s presence.”

“David was up for anything and contributed to the success of what would become a memorable, tragic figure. May he rest in peace,” Lucas added.

The voice of Darth Vader was performed by James Earl Jones.

Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill released his own statement on Twitter, saying, “He was a kind man & much more than Darth Vader. He love his fans as much as they loved him.”

A bodybuilder from a young age. Before Star Wars, Prowse won three straight British weightlifting titles from 1962-1964. He also appeared in A Clockwork Orange and The Tomorrow People, while Prowse also acted as Frankenstein’s monster in multiple films.

In the UK, Prowse is also known for his role as the superhero “Green Cross Code Man” as part of a public safety campaign that started in the 1970s.

As the Star Wars blog post reminds us, Prowse also auditioned for Chewbacca. The role would go to Peter Mayhew, who passed away in 2019.

Darth Vader also appeared in Star Wars: Rogue One, and he was portrayed by Spencer Wilding and Daniel Naprous, with James Earl Jones reprising the character’s voice.

Chadwick Boseman Tribute Video Added To Black Panther On Disney Plus

November 29 is Chadwick Boseman’s birthday, and to mark the occasion for the late actor, Disney updated the Marvel movie intro for Black Panther on Disney Plus to be focused on him. Boseman passed away in August. This would have been his 44th birthday.

The new video uses the same structure as the main one, but the text, images, and video puts the focus on Boseman and his various appearances in the MCU.

Disney chairman Robert Iger also tweeted about the new tribute, telling fans to keep an eye on the Disney Plus version of Black Panther to catch the video.

Before this, Disney released a documentary called Chadwick Boseman: A Tribute for a King to celebrate the actor’s life and the impact he made on and off the screen. This movie is currently available to watch on Disney Plus.

The first Black Panther earned over $1.3 billion at the international box office. It’s the fourth highest grossing film ever at the US box office.

Black Panther 2 is currently scheduled to film in 2021 and release on May 26, 2022. Ryan Coogler, the director and writer of the first film, is attached to return. The movie will not feature a digitally recreated Boseman.
