Here’s When To Watch Fortnite’s Galactus Event

Fortnite’s special Marvel season is finally coming to an end this week. Galactus, the destroyer of worlds, is coming to crash the party and change the map tomorrow afternoon. Here’s how you can take part in the battle royale’s special event.

Galactus will arrive in special event servers at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET / 9 PM BST tomorrow, December 1. You’ll need to arrive early and queue up for the event by selecting it in the game mode menu. Players have missed previous events due to server capacity, so don’t expect to get in if you arrive just before the event starts.

If you won’t be able to make it into the live server, you can watch a streamer take part of the season-ending event on Twitch. Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff and Ali “SypherPK” Hasan are two of many popular streamers who will be attending the event and broadcasting it on their channels. You can browse through Twitch tomorrow to find other Fortnite streamers who’ll be there as well.

Fortnite players have been trying to predict what will happen at tomorrow’s event. There are a few theories, but no one is quite sure what Galactus will do once he arrives. Players, however, will be happy to be done with Season 4’s long grind no matter what happens.

Season 5 is right around the corner and Epic Games is now offering a monthly subscription model for Fortnite. Players can purchase it and receive the new battle pass and extra V-Bucks, although they can still pay for the battle pass individually if they’d like.

Get Bayonetta In Wonderful 101 Easily With The Launch Of Its Demo

The Wonderful 101 Remastered is getting an extensive demo across all its release platforms, and it includes additional content and easy access to the Bayonetta-inspired character on all versions.

Titled the “Wonder-Sized Cadet Demo,” the free version features the entirety of the game’s prologue and all three acts of its first mission, giving you around two hours of play time to mess around with the game’s distinct combat system. Developer Platinum Games says that any progress you make in the demo will carry over to the retail version of the game should you wish to purchase it.

The demo will also give you easy access to Wonder-Bayonetta, an in-game homage to another Platinum-developed title that was previously difficult to obtain. The character will be available from the start of the demo along with other additional in-game items.

If you’ve already invested in the retail version of Wonderful 101’s remaster, then you can get the same in-game items using codes provided by Platinum Games. Using the code “UMBRANGIFT” will net you Wonder-Bayonetta and the same support items in the demo, while code “ANGELSLAYERS” will unlock both Wonder-Jeanne and Wonder-Rodin. Platinum Games has teased that it will be unlocking additional characters with similar codes in the future.

Originally released on the Wii U in 2013, Wonderful 101 still stands out with its frenetic combat and striking art style. It’s somewhat less impressive in 2020, however, with GameSpot’s Wonderful 101 Remastered review reading, “There’s a great concept and the good combat mechanics we know Platinum can achieve in there, but you’ll need a lot of patience to find them.”

Rainbow Six Siege Operation Neon Dawn Goes Live Tuesday, Is A Big Download

Rainbow Six Siege’s latest season is about to hit, and it brings a variety of changes to the game. Titled Operation Neon Dawn, the update will add a reworked map and a new operator to the game. But in terms of immediate impact, some players might blanch at the hefty size of the patch itself, which comes in at 60 GB on PC and 35.90 GB on console. That’s in addition to the next-gen upgrade, which is 3.2 GB on Xbox Series X/S and 5.38 GB on PlayStation 5

To be fair, Ubisoft notes that the large patch size is due to the consolidation of data files that will make the overall data footprint of Siege itself smaller. That said, it’s still quite big for a patch. The update will introduce a major rework of the Skyscraper map, as well as the Thai operator Aruni. Aruni uses laser gates to defend vulnerable passageways or corridors from the attackers, though those gates can be disabled by any projectile in the game.

Neon Dawn will also come with many changes aimed at improving competitive play. According to the pre-season designer’s notes, the patch focuses on scrambling what Ubisoft calls the “heavy utility meta” through measures such as removing the amount of projectiles that catcher operators like Jager can deny per round. Hibana is also receiving a configurable shot that allows her to decide how many X-Kairos to shoot, which will give her some much-needed flexibility.

Immortals: Fenyx Rising Review Roundup

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild posited a completely different blueprint for the open-world genre back in 2017, and it’s taken three years for the gaming industry to take those ideas and run with them. Immortals Fenyx Rising one of the biggest games yet to deliver its own take on many of Breath of the Wild’s most interesting ideas, and now that the reviews are out, check out the roundup below to see what critics think of this mythological adventure.

Heavily indebted to Greek mythology, Immortals Fenyx Rising is an open-world adventure game coming December 3 that’s based around exploration and combat. Overall, the reviewers praise the game’s artstyle and worldbuilding, while decrying its derivative puzzle design and focus on traditional open-world activities. While some reviewers clearly enjoyed the game, they opine that the game ultimately has more in common with Ubisoft’s usual open-world games than perhaps its developer would like to admit.

  • Game: Immortals Fenyx Rising
  • Platforms: Amazon Luna, PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
  • Developer: Ubisoft Quebec
  • Release Date: December 3
  • Price: $60 / £50 / $80 AUD

Below are some choice excerpts from reviews to give you the full picture of what people think about the game. Head over to GameSpot’s sister site Metacritic for more reviews of the game.

GameSpot – 7/10

“Immortals Fenyx Rising is far from perfect–but it is good. It stumbles frequently as it explores Greek myths through a new lens, its best features are borrowed, and for as large and fun as its world is, it always feels like you’re on a guided tour instead of really exploring it. But even as it lives in the shadow of better games, its puzzles, combat, and open-world loop come together often enough for me to not only see it through for a few dozen hours, but also want to keep filling out its almighty checklist, even if it lead me by the nose most of the way through.” – Suriel Vazquez [Full Review]

Eurogamer – Unscored

“I feel for Immortals a bit. Blame Covid, blame budgets, blame Ubisoft, blame the paradoxically thrifty, endlessly repurposing way the publisher makes all its huge, expansive, generous games, but Immortals never really finds its own voice until the very end. It’s a skillful, lovingly made product, but it is unmistakably a product, and the best games in this genre all feel like genuine adventures.” – Christian Donlan [Full Review]

Game Informer – 9/10

“Immortals contains all the ingredients I want from an epic, open-world adventure steeped in mythology. With empowering combat, rewarding exploration, and a story that shines a spotlight on its characters through humor, Immortals Fenyx Rising leverages its myriad inspirations to discover its own identity and deliver an outstanding open-world experience.” – Brian Shea [Full Review]

PC Gamer – 72/100

Immortals is easy to like. It has an infectious energy, a great sense of humor, and a world that is full of colour and life. I just wish the mechanical stuff underpinning everything was more fine-tuned. The unsatisfying, weightless character movement is a real letdown, because there’s no getting away from it. This is a game where you’re constantly running, flying, climbing, and riding on horseback. But its unique take on Greek mythology, memorable characters, and fun quests do their best to make up for it, even if it doesn’t always pull it off. – Andy Kelly [Full Review]

IGN – 7/10

Immortals Fenyx Rising gives us a gorgeous world to explore, filled with mythological beasts, deities, and powers to wield. Its combat is satisfying, with plenty of choice in upgrades, while its central characters, comedic tone, and storytelling are a real highlight. Seeing Fenyx’s saga through to the end, with amusing commentary from Zeus, Prometheus, and other gods along the way, is a treat. Its Achilles Heel, though, is that so much of the puzzle gameplay feels like going through the motions instead of clever challenges. In the end, I wish Immortals Fenyx Rising had tried to soar just a little higher on the wings of ambition. – Cam Shea [Full Review]

The Best Cyber Monday Gaming Monitor Deals: LG, Samsung, and Alienware

Cyber Monday deals on monitors carry over from Black Friday, with some extras going live along the way. You have to be pretty quick on the draw, though, because these monitors go through their stock very, very quickly. Some of the best deals on Black Friday have already expired, but we’re sure that some will come back on Cyber Monday.  There are still plenty of great deals on all kinds of monitors, but the best deals are on Alienware, Samsung Odyssey, and LG UltraGear gaming monitors. What makes a gaming monitor a gaming monitor? It’s a bit arbitrary, but in our opinion it must have at the very least a fast response time (4ms or less) and tolerance for higher refresh rates (100Hz or higher). Of course the more you spend, the more features you unlock like 240Hz refresh rate or G-SYNC compatibility.

Cyber Monday Dell and Alienware Gaming Monitor Deals

Dell has long been making some of the best monitors on the market. Their gaming monitors are heavily discounted on Cyber Monday but tend to sell out quickly as well.

Cyber Monday Samsung Odyssey Gaming Monitor Deals

At this point the best place to pick up a Cyber Monday Samsung Odyssey gaming monitor deal is from Samsung themselves. Due to super high demand, some of the monitors go in and out of stock frequently. If you see a monitor here that’s already out of stock, you can check back again.

More Cyber Monday Gaming Monitor Deals

Alienware and LG UltraGear monitors are also on sale from various vendors. Check out the new 2020 LG 34″ 3440×1440 monitor on sale for the first time ever or the 2020 LG 27″ 1440p G-SYNC Nano IPS monitor that everyone loves. Alienware premium models are on sale too.

Cyber Monday Workstation Monitor Deals

Just because these monitors don’t have gaming features doesn’t mean they are not good for gaming. I’ve personally used a “standard” monitor for years before switching over to a newer model and I was perfectly content playing games on it. That said, these monitors are considered “general purpose” monitors; good for games but even better suited for everything else you’d use your PC for.
